Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kalina Alipieva is a deputy director of Institute of Organic Chemistry with Centre of Phytochemistry, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. She is a member of the board of the Bulgarian Phytochemical Society and of Scientific Council of the Institute.
Dr. Alipieva works more than 20 years in the field of chemistry of natural compounds. Her scientific interests are focused on the chemical composition of medicinal plants, their closely related endemics, as well as in vitro cultivated plant species or plant cells/tissue cultures producing pharmaceutically valuable metabolites. Her vast experience includes NMR metabolomic analysis of extracts and structural analysis of different classes of natural compounds.
Dr. Alipieva is a Head of Laboratory “Bioactive extracts, natural compounds and synthetic analogues” in the frame of Centre of Competence project “Sustainable Utilization of Bioresources and Waste from Medicinal and Aromatic Plants for Innovative Bioactive Products” funded by Operational Programme SESG.
